Thanksgiving and then some

Thanksgiving around here started a week early. We shopped the whole before hand to make sure that "we", well mainly "I" had all of the perfect stuff for our Thanksgiving Feast!

We were up so late shopping that Ash fell asleep on her daddy. SO CUTE!
The day of Thanksgiving Matt went up to Anabelle's to get a turkey from their house. Upon entering their house he woke each and every single one of them up. Kayla came down and to Matt's dismay did all of the tukey prep. Matt will tell you he did it all and Kayla helped! Nope! I give all of the credit to Kayla on that one. We had 2 turkey's. One fried out in our back yard surrounded by cement, and one in the oven, traditional style. We were having LOTS of ppl over. After all of the turkey prep Kayla decided to do the girls hair. This is what they both came out looking like! I just laughed really hard and HAD to take pics! ENJOY! While all of this was going on I managed to make 2 more trips to the store and ruined 3 pies and still made 5 pies. All together we had 8 pies. 3 apple (all home made!), 3 pumpkin cheesecake (everyone always raves about this. It's a fan of both sides of the pumpkin fan/not fan's they all love it!), and 2 banana cream pies.

I think we ended up having at least 26 people for dinner and then about another 6 came up for a visit and PIE!!! Well they ended up eating pie cause that's when they showed up! LOL! We had 3 tables. The pic below shows my empty kitchen floor where we ended up having a smaller table for all of the young kids, then in our long front room we had two tables. One of them was for the older kids, and the other was for the Adults.

Here you can see the two tables. The one closest to us was the one the adults sat at and it was all nice and pretty by the time we ate. I got to pull out all of my Wintery looking plates for everyone to eat off of. My Sister in law (SIL) also brought her crystal glasses and plate ware for us too. Thank goodness cause we needed them.
Here you can see the glasses and the plateware

Here is the fun mess after it all!

We cleaned up, played some games, sat around and fell asleep on the couches or whatever our butts could hit at the time. We stayed up till late and was up nice and early the next day for Black Friday. I was woken up by my SIL at 4:28 am to "are you ready yet?" I had every intention of getting up and hurried and got ready and off to walmart I went with my 2 SIL's and neice. We spent a few hours shopping and got a good amount of great things. Among some of them a new camera for myself. I kinda spoiled myself with it and opened it when I got home. I did have to work that day so they dropped me off at home so I could take a nap and then head to work. Well about a half hour into my nap I got a call from one of my SIL's. They were at Sam's Club and they found the Guitar Hero World Tour for the Wii. The very last one! We have been looking for it for a while and wanted to get it. Needless to say I was out of bed getting ready for work (since work was around the corner from Sam's), and on my way. We are now proud owners of GHWT but wont be opened until Christmas. It's a family Cmas gift! It's going to be really really hard for Matt and I to not open it and play it while the kids are in bed!!! EAK!!! Off to work I went after all of that. I was so tired I had a hard time staying awake. I let laid off that day 2 hours before my shift ended. Thanks to the recession they just weren't making enough money to keep on all of their seasonal workers. Bummer deal, but it all happened for the better.

*as a side note, 5 days before Thanksgiving we had our house appraised and got a great value for it. 2 days before Thanksgiving our basement flooded.

Ok, on with the story! That night Matt took me and Brytni to go see "Twilight" I was impressed with many things about it and not so impressed with a few others, but all in all I really liked it. I have to say Robert Pattinson did a good job as Edward. He finally won me over. I think I should go see it again for all of the small things I may have missed.

Our house started smelling really bad by saturday and we finally called our home owners insurance. I do assure you that we did get all of the water up and we were doing our best to try and dry it all out with as many fans as we could conjure up. A clean up crew came that same day and was here for 6 1/2 hours... Our basement was worse than what we thought it was. It is now all torn to shreds. It has been inspected and we can start on repairs here soon. Hip Hip HOORAY!! We get a new basement. It's been needing it since we moved in! Lots of disasaters have happened lately and they all seemed to have had a great outcome in a short period of time. Usually you don't find out until months down the road but ours have come to surface within days of them happening. Ok I think this is all for now. Right now I am getting ready for Christmas and I have one tree down and one more to help decorate and one that is fiber optic.
Happy Holiday's!!!
This was also apart of our feast!!! We had so much food! Some traditional and some not, but it was all so great and good!
