Clark G. Thornton went to meet his maker October 30, 2008 to rejoice with family and friends that preceded him there. He passed away at the age of 81 after a lingering illness.
He was born December 10m 1926 in Minersville, Utah, to Grant H. and Ethel (Eyre) Thornton. He was six years old when they moved to Salt Lake City, during the worst of the depression. He was the oldest of five children and the only son. He joined the Navy on February 29, 1944 during World War II, and was honorably discharged in May of 1946.
He married Rochanne (Rocky) Leifester on September 20, 1946 and they lived 53 of those years in Salt Lake City and nine years in East Carbon, Utah. He was a very talented craftsman and mechanic and could do anything he ever attempted. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, singing and dancing. He dedicated his life to helping others.
Clark is survived by his wife and a large loving family of many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; hi sisters, Larnell (Ron) Goodsell, Pam (Gary) Cowan and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, orma Wooley and Patricia Asay and a grandson, Tyler James Thornton.
Well done thou good and faithful servant. We look forward to meeting you again.

Funeral Services will e held Tuesday, November 4, 2008, 10 am at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah where friends may call Monday, November 3, 2008 from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Cottomwood Mortuary.
