Funeral

The Funeral was beautiful. It went smoothly and so did the song Matt and I sang. We sang "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill. If you read the words we changed one word in the song and it was from "son" to "dad". It really made the song sound great. Lots of people didn't know I could sing like that. One person thought that my voice was going to crack on the high notes, but I did just fine! HOORAY!!! The two days were long and hard to endure, but it felt so great to be amoung family. We didn't have lots of time to ourselves and that was probably a good thing. Matt handled things well. A man I have only seen cry twice in the 6 1/2 years we have been married cried for the loss of his father. I knew it was only natural to see him cry. I made sure I was there for him every time. At first Brytni handled the viewing and services just fine. I started to worry about her cause it seemed like she didn't have any emotions. At the grave site when we could go ahead and say our last words to Clark she just started crying and couldn't stop. That's when it hit her. With Jayde it hit her at the viewing the day before and then right before we closed the casket and then she cried through most of the funeral service. At the burial site there were Navy Officers there to salute him and then to play the trumpet and then the folding of the flag. My camera died as they were folding the flag. I am hoping to get some of those pics later to post. That always makes me cry. Afterwards we went to a local church and had some food and took pics of the family.
