Idaho Falls

This last weekend I made it up to Idaho Falls! It really isn't that bad of a drive. Especially when kids are behaving. We took 2 cars. Matt's and the durango. It sure was nice to drive the durango and not that ugly tipsy van. I spent a good amount of time out with the girls getting lost and getting to know the area... I took lots of pictures! Last Wednesday was my last day at work, and that was really hard on me. I had to say goodbye to a lot of really close friends that I may see every now and then, but not as often as I am used to seeing them. So far I've been texting many of them, and have asked them to be my friends on facebook. Anyway, back to IF... I was up there trying to find a home to rent. Everything I checked out seemed to be a bust, but I wasn't about to give up. I called our Real Estate agent and told her we needed to get the house on the market and wanted to know if she knew anyone in the area that could help us find a place to rent. She didn't get back to me until Sunday. The day the girls and I were leaving. Matt and I managed to drive around the area and get to know it better and check out the area we wanted to live. There are some nice homes in the area that are nicer than our home, but not with some of the luxuries we have. All of the homes are in communities and close together, where we have at our house now a corner lot and neighbors that keep to themselves even though they are great neighbors anyway. We live on a somewhat busy road. All of the traffic turns left on the street west of us and so we don't get a lot of traffic going up past our house. The house across the street from us faces away from us so we really haven't had to actually "face" anyone the whole time we have been here and that's been kind of nice. We do have a very mature yard and hard to keep up on, but none of the houses up there have a yard quite like ours. So either we satisfy ourselves with a home in a subdivision that's newer and what we are looking for, or find an older home with the amenities we already have. I for one am ready for a newer home. This one has been nice, but it's time to upgrade. I will be informing my hubby today that I don't think it a wise decision that his friend try and live with us. Seeing has this last weekend he almost flaked on himself and Matt had a hard time getting a hold of him to help him out of his own funk. Long story there. He may or may not agree with me, but we can't keep waiting for him to come around and decide what he wants to do. Plus, I don't want to be getting into a place that is going to be to expensive for us if he does flake.
The days I was there went by fast, and my children royally tried my patients. Having both Matt and I out of the home working for the last few months has taken a toll on my childrens attitudes and they all had a rude awakening when both parent's told them how rude and out of control they were. Needless to say since I've been home, there has been a lot of changes in their behavior. The girls are excited to move up there. Even my little Ashlyn. We were on our way home and she kept asking if we were going home. I told her yes, but she kept insisting that home was the other direction. Does this tell you anything? That little girls has some intuition. She keeps asking me when we are moving up there, and is helping me pack things. She has even packed up some of her clothes into boxes and has asked me to tape them shut so that she can move to Idaho Falls. It was the cutest thing in the world when she asked me to do it. I know the area now and feel pretty confident that I will be happy living there. I really like Matt's boss and his wife. Very very nice people and we already have tons of fun laughing, joking, and playing around. I have pics, but I'm afraid that I probably wont be able to post them for a while. Down Town IF is very pretty. It's old, but doesn't look old. They know how to keep certain things updated. There are older homes, but they have been kept up. The IF in the Snake River is absolutely gorgeous! There will be many outings to the falls for pictures and picnics. Matt's office looks like will overlook the falls and he's excited to have such a gorgeous view.
I am now back here at home packing like a mad woman! Minus Matt who is still up there working his tail end off just as much as I am here at home. I have cleaned out Jayde and Ashlyn's room (this is for all of you who know what my house looks like and knows how messy 2 of my girls are) and it is spotless and is going to stay that way. Jayde told me the other day that she likes her room clean and wants to keep it that way. I've been helping her by reminding her every day of the small things she needs to do to keep it clean. So far she is doing a great job and even taking on the responsibility of cleaning up after Ashlyn, which she never does. My room has been gutted and spotless. The bathroom is done, the closet in the hallway is done... I've been working on the front room for ages, but seeing how it is the main room in the house everyone goes, it gets messy and not everything is packed. I'm working on it though and the packing seems to be going fairly smoothly after I've gotten rid of 98% of the clutter. The front room tend to have large piles of boxes, and stuff to get rid of. I'm not so overwhelmed anymore, but know there is still a lot to do. Today I am meeting with the Real Estate Agent to put the house on the market. Kinda scary for me. I've never done this before. Everyone please pray that the house sells fast. It sold within the first 4 months it was put on the market when we bought it. It was put up in January and sold by the 1st of May. We have officially been here 4 years now! WOW! Time flies! So here's to hoping to get the sold faster since we are putting it up right at the time that everything blooms in the yard and it's getting warmer. Pass the word on if you know anyone who is looking for a house. This one is a great house! I have loved it for the last 4 years and it truly feels like a home when you walk into it.
Ok, that is all for now. I know I did a lot of rambling, and hopefully most of it makes sense. If you would like to see pictures and you are my friend on facebook, you can see a portion of the pictures I took while we were there.
