NY/NJ Trip Day 3

Day 3 was a big day for us. We decided to get up earlier and get started earlier so we could get some better pics of the city in the day. Our friend Jeff drove and we went up over the GWB (George Washington Bridge, which you are not aloud to take pics of once you are on it, but can from a distance due to terrorist attacks. This is the only bridge that connects NJ to NY that far north without having to drive all the way down to the Manhatten bridge), into the Bronx over the Triboro Bridge into New York, then on into Queens, and into Brooklyn, and back over the Manhatten Bridge on into Manhatten for our NY Comedy Club excursion. It was really neat being able to see 5 of the 6 boroughs of NY. We stayed in Manhatten before the Comedy Club and ventured down into the subway. It was really stuffy and scary down there. It wasn't really busy. But none the less it makes you wonder after all of the movies you have seen what will happen to you down there. We left the WTC area, aka Ground Zero (which you can't see because it is all gated off because they are building some new buildings there. We didn't find out until later that there is a museum you can go in and see pics of the rubble and stuff), and headed for the subway. We went up a few stations and then came back, but didn't go down far enough and got lost once we were up on the surface streets. You would think you would be able to direct yourself once up on the street surface, but with all of the really tall buildings you can't see what's behind them. So we ventured for 12 blocks before we found our car and made it to the NY Comedy Club just in time to be let in and seated. We saw many famous Comedians, but since I wasn't smart enough write their names down I can't remember who they all were. I just remember Matt getting picked on because he was laughing so hard. We were right in the front row. Matt was made fun of becuase he lives in Utah.... We made it an early night and went back to the hotel so we could get up early for Sunday's excursion out. On our way back to the hotel though Jeff stopped off so we could take pics of the New York Skyline from Jersey, and also the GWB. Those pics to be posted in the next post.
