July 5th

On the 5th of July my DS, Jennifer, and her family came up for a visit. They live in Orem and with gas prices it is a major thing when either they can come up or we can go down to visit. That day was a fun, stress filled day! Matt was working on their car for them, another reason they came. We found out what we already knew.. You can't trust a mechanic shop anymore. Thank heavens my husband sure knows how to fix cars! It has saved us, and my family TONS of money from stupid mechanics who like to rip people off! The mechanic shop that told my sister she needed different things fixed on her car, we found out... DIDN'T NEED TO BE FIXED! Well, now if that doesn't surprise you... That day we had so much planned, stripping and painting a room, 2 birthday celebrations, dinner, and fireworks. It all started off with waking up late... I was supposed to be up and getting Jayde's room cleaned out and prepped for painting. The one wall with paneling was so much more work than I had expected. It ended up being that I got all of the furniture out of the room and realized that I didn't have sand paper for the electric sander I had to finish the wall off. In the mean time of me scrampbling around finding sand paper, my dad, brother, and brother inlaws went in and did a lot of dirty work to get all of the old peeling paint off of the wall. I found some sand paper and then proceeded to sand the wall down. I taped, and then it was time for some dinner and gifts for Brytni and Jayde. You see thier bdays are only 6 days apart. Star, Jennifer's husband, made the cupcakes I was going to make for the girls and everyone, for me! So my girls go to open their gifts from Gma and Gpa and Aunt Jenn, Unca Star, and Scott, then have some delish cupcakes. Then off to the dirty work... Painting the room. Mom had the paint brush and was doing around all of the edges in the room, Jennifer had a roller and was painting the walls, and I had a roller and long pole to paint the ceiling. The room sat and while I took a break, Jennifer and Star went in and put the 2nd coat of paint on the walls for me! That was so sweet of them! Here is what the room looked like after some of the painting.

I painted the ceiling again, but ran out of paint to do all of the extra work, and rollers for the main bare wall to be painted green. A limish green color... Candy and Lime green.... Makes for a bright room.

Gma and Gpa left early. Gma had a talk to prepare for, and finish. Unca Jay, Star, and Aunt Jen, and Cousin Scott stayed and we did some small little fireworks in the driveway. Both Brytni and Matt decided to start small little fires of their own in our brush... Much to my dismay...

My honey and I fighting over who is going to light my sparklers... (I had 4 of them in my hand)Don't mind the messy hair, remember... painting and moving furniture. I didn't think I needed to do my hair and makeup to impress the paint.

We didn't do anything to shmancy fancy, but enough to entertain the kids!
