House Update

I have some updated pics of the house. Some of them still aren't that great but at least you can see how things look. It has taken me almost 2 months to get Matt to help me put up some decorations that I just cannot do alone, or with an 11 yr old.

We Originally bought this cabinet for the basement bathroom in North Ogden when we remodeled it. I found I didn't have a place for all of my many many cookbooks, so we put up in the dining room. It looks great in there and I'm really happy with it. Plus I was finally able to put up some decorations! What convinced Matt to put it up was the fact he wanted some boxes gone out of the kitchen area. Plus, we were having some friends over for a bbq and we wanted it to look cleaner.

So here is our kitchen now after putting our table and chairs in it with the cabinet.

This is our family room now. I still have MANY boxes in the left corner that I still have decorations in. Hence I still need my handsome hubbies help to get them all up. Plus, we were able to put up our family pictures which tied the cabinet in with the whole feeling homey feeling again. I am starting to feel like this is home now. Before it just looked so empty and it drove me crazy!

This is the front room looking into the family and kitchen/dining area. Above it you can see the cool things I have been able to put up there and decorate with. That ship I found at the DI for $3. I am keeping my eye open for some more ships like this one. Hence my new theme! I found some amazing ones at Pier 1 Imports, but they are totally not in my price range right now. I will get more soon though. It's an exciting voyage I am on now. ;)

Here you can see the decor from the other side of the wall. It was so exciting for me to be able to get more of these decor up!

On the other side of the wall I have this posted in the arch. You can see it in the previous picture. I just want to let people know WHY my house is always a mess.

I realize I didn't have pics of our bedroom. This is our bed (obviously!)

Here I finally got the bookshelf in the room and my books put on it. I feel a little more complete now that it's in there. I got to get rid of 3 boxes doing that, and OH this totally remind me! I now have all of my scrapbooking boxes in the basement ready for me to start unloading them and organizing. I hope I can get to the sometime here soon. I just need a few bookshelves and I am hoping to find them at the DI. If not it will be another $50 for some taller ones like this one to put in there to help keep me organized. But I am really looking forward to getting my creative on. The rest of the house still looks the same. I guess I should go around and take pics of what the house looks like with of our things in it.
