Valentine Mayhem

Valentine's Day has become a big to do around here. For one, I always have to get Matt something that he is going to love, and then end up let down myself when he never knows what to get me. Then for another is getting Valentines ready for the kids. This year we had 2 sets of Valentines to make. So that was a chore. Of course then I decided it would be fun to heart attack the grandparent's (which never happened). We were broke this year for Valentine's day so I decided to make Matt something from the heart. Or other body parts...

I found this off of my friend Bella's blog and knew I couldn't resist!

On top of all of that was my SIL and BIL's Anniversary on the 14th too. So I decided to ask their kids what they were doing to do for them and one of them said that she had gotten them a gift but didn't have anything else for them. So I decided it would be fun for their kids to heart attack their room. So the kids spent hours at my house cutting out hearts. BIL and SIL were in Price with 2 of their other kids having their braces tightened. I printed out a big huge banner that said "Happy Anniversary" and we all went up to their house and heart attacked their room and put up the banner. They said they loved it, but who knows really. I had fun helping and made me feel good to know that I was trying to help make their day a little more special for them and to have their kids included in that day.

The day of Valentine's Matt had a meeting at the office so I decided to go to my parents house with the girls that morning. The night before it decided to snow a ton! Not up here at my house, but down by my parents. It was AWEFUL! I went sliding through one intersection even though I had stopped in plenty of time! Thank goodness it was early enough that there wasn't anybody at the intersection. I had cut out happy valentines day with hearts and everything galore for my parents and in my haste of the snow flying and building up I didn't even get a chance to heart attack their door. Due to the storm we weren't able to make it down to see Matt's mom so we could heart attack her room and let her know how much she is loved. I am sure it gets pretty lonely in that room. She is now in a skilled facility in Bountiful. The place refuses to transport her to water therapy so we are trying to find a place up here who will take her and also be able to transport her to water therapy here in Ogden. It's been a bit of a mess, but the kids are really looking forward to seeing grandma more often. Matt and Anabelle will be taking turns going in and visiting and making sure she is ok and comfortable. As I am sure I will be doing it also. She is still bed ridden. Not aloud to put any weight on her hips at all. Her incision is looking great. All nice and healed and starting to go away. She knows how to move herself around in the bed and is starting to move her leg a bit more but for only minutes at a time. She is one of those big inflatable beds with pillows full of air stacked up along the bed so she doesn't end up with bed sores! Thank goodness for beds like that! She's been bed ridden for 3 months now, and will require another month or so before she can put any weight on it at all. But the water therapy is supposed to help make her more mobile and gets her out of the facility and get her joints moving and learning to walk again. She has made it a long way, but she still has a long way to go.
I forgot to mention that Matt loved his card, he chuckled when I handed it to him before we left for his meeting that morning, and then that night he took us out to eat. We didn't do anything real special but eating out is a rarety in this house hold.
